How to return a mattress: rules by brand, compared.

Trial length is only step one. The actual process can involve a minimum-use period, pickup scheduling, processing fees or a household return limit.

Before you contact the brand

Find the order number and purchase email.
Check the delivery date so you know where you are in the trial.
Photograph the mattress condition and law label.
Review stain, damage and support requirements.
Save the current return policy before starting the request.

Do not confuse mattress and base returns

Adjustable bases often have different rules. Saatva's adjustable base is currently final sale. Helix adjustable bases currently have a 30-night trial. WinkBase 3.0 is currently non-refundable with no home trial. Nectar furniture currently has a separate 60-night trial. A mattress return does not automatically mean the base can be returned too.

If you exchanged instead of returned

An exchange can change what happens next. WinkBeds currently gives the replacement mattress a 60-night trial. Saatva says a new 365-night trial begins when an exchanged mattress is delivered. Read the brand's current terms before treating an exchange as a simple reset.
